Overview
WAFAIis the result of a design sprint created in conjunction with the Georgia Institute of Technology Body Scanning Lab. The project explored both advanced body scanning equipment and 3D Printing technology to look at how wearables can be custom fit to individuals.
The goals of the project were to research and define a problem space that will allow for meaningful augmentation of experiences between humans and technology. Looking at how humans sense and experience the world around them, the goal was to create a custom fit wearable that allowed us to amplify a specific sense.
The project began using the "Scan and Print" design methodology. The first task was to utilize the Georgia Tech Body Scanning Lab and scan ourselves. The choice body part was the head. After this file was created and refined, custom parts could be designed and fit onto the head.
The next phase of the design process was ideation. Using our newly created, custom-fit models, we began creating different design of that might best fit onto someone's head and face. It was also important to explore interaction points between the senses and the technology.
Project Summary
We as a society are on the brink of change. Current technology is smart and getting smarter, but is not yet intuitive. Devices should be proactive, not reactive and this distinction is what defines that change. The change from the Age of Information to the Age of Experience: from intelligent devices to intuitive devices.

Using AI technology, WAFAI collects the same sensory data that you experience every moment. The information is used to better train itself and orchestrate all your needs.
